This course will give you the confidence and ability to integrate Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) into your everyday Emergency and Acute Medical practice. Learn through hands-on scanning, image interpretation, case discussions, and evidence-based review. The course covers:
- Basics: Ultrasound Physics, Knobology, and Image Optimisation
- Cardiac ECHO (not part of the FAMUS syllabus but included as an additional module): Heart failure, wall motion abnormalities, pulmonary embolism and right heart strain, aortic dissection
- Abdomen: Abdominal free fluid (ascites), hydronephrosis, bladder distension
- Thorax: Pneumonia, pneumothorax, pleural effusion
- Procedures: Ultrasound-guided vascular access and nerve blocks
- DVT
- Quiz: Case-based image review
