Final FRCA Revision Courses
The Final FRCA examination is the final step in becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and tagging the letters “FRCA” behind your name.
It is a must that you have already passed the FRCA Primary examination or a similarly recognised exam first.
The FRCA Final will also be a two-stage exam with written and SOE components where they allow a maximum of 3 years between the two.
Do I Need to Go on an FRCA Final Course?
With an allowance of seven years from the date of passing the FRCA Primary to sitting for the Final, some candidates may have lost touch with the theory aspect. Both the written and SOE exams will involve a certain amount of theory, so a course of this nature is useful.
Candidates will benefit much from Final FRCA revision courses. Courses will target each component separately most of the time, so you have the option of picking the desired course depending on what the upcoming exam is.
Having the practice and feedback you get from an SOE FRCA course is vital to performing well on the day, helping you to settle the nerves and deal with questions automatically.
Final FRCA SOE/Viva Courses
The Final FRCA SOE is a component most candidates find difficult. Besides clinical knowledge, it also assesses the understanding and decision-making abilities of a participant in anaesthesia. This is the final hurdle in getting your FRCA and will usually mark the end of exams in an anaesthetist’s life.
So why not give it your all and take part in an FRCA SOE/ viva course? These courses may:
- Get to know what is included in the FRCA Final syllabus
- Learn about the structure of the FRCA Final SOE
- Improve your time management and decision-making skills
- Attempt mock SOEs before the exam
Final FRCA Written SBA Courses
The Final FRCA written paper has two parts, a constructed response question (CRQ) paper and an SBA question paper. The written examination assesses factual knowledge as per the training curriculum and guidelines issued by recognised academic bodies.
The number of CRQ questions is 12, and it is 90 in the MCQ paper of which all are single best answer types on anaesthesia and other related and important domains.
By taking part in a Final FRCA Written SBA Course you may:
- Obtain a comprehensive knowledge of the exam syllabus
- Go through past exam questions and boost your confidence
- Attempt model SBA questions and discuss answers with the trainers
- Clarify your doubts on particularly difficult areas
