Teach the Teacher Course

Erudical's Teach the Teacher course is designed for busy UK doctors and healthcare professionals who want to develop their teaching skills and earn points for IMT, Core Training, and Specialty Training applications.

The course combines two complementary learning formats: a full-day live online course (9:00–17:00) plus over 12 hours of self-paced online content delivered via desktop, tablet, or mobile app. The live sessions feature expert instruction with interactive group tasks and feedback in a virtual classroom. The self-paced modules cover 20 easily digestible topics delivered over 6 weeks of access, with content available for offline download via the app.

Topics covered include adult education theories, catering to different learning styles, developing effective aims and objectives, choosing methods of delivery, dealing with difficult students, giving effective feedback, and reflecting on teaching to evaluate effectiveness. The course focuses on practical teaching across bedside, small groups, PowerPoint presentations, and lectures — all common contexts for medical professionals.

Assessment includes in-module and end-of-module quizzes, a final test, and up to two workplace-based assignments requiring evidence of teaching (feedback or reports). All completers receive an official certificate of completion. Attendance at the live course is optional — the self-paced portion alone is sufficient to gain certification, though some applications may require the live element for points.
