Consultant Interview Course

The Consultant Interview Course is a 1-day interactive course designed and delivered by NHS Consultants, specifically for senior doctors preparing for a consultant interview. This essential preparation covers the interview process, panel expectations, and evidence-based strategies for responding to consultant-level questions. The course is ideal for doctors at any stage of their consultant interview journey, including those applying for GRID posts.

The course takes place in a Virtual Classroom using secure video meeting software, with small group sizes capped at a maximum of 6 delegates to ensure quality interaction and personalized support. Your course tutor is an NHS Consultant from Oxford Medical's Faculty with direct panel experience. Through a mix of discussion and structured practice, you will build confidence in presenting your skills, experiences, and clinical opinions with relevance to the Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC).

A cornerstone of the course is the mock AAC panel interview, which is video-recorded (optional) and followed by personalized feedback and coaching from your tutor. You will also experience the role of interviewer, observing fellow delegates in action to identify effective techniques and learn what to avoid. The mock interview video can be downloaded immediately after the course to review and refine your technique during the final stages of preparation.
