The National Medical Education & Research Conference (NMERC) is a UK conference for doctors in training, organized by Erudical. It gives trainees a credible, accessible place to present their research, audit, quality improvement, and medical education work, and to gain the presentation experience that counts toward specialty recruitment.
NMERC runs online in an immersive virtual venue, where attendees move through a lecture hall, a poster hall, and breakout spaces, meeting presenters and peers much as they would at an in-person event. The conference is CPD accredited, and certificates and prizes are awarded.
Submitting an abstract is free. Every submission is reviewed against a published rubric covering originality, method, clarity of results, and relevance, with decisions issued on a rolling basis within days. The highest-scoring abstracts are selected for oral presentation, while posters are accepted on meeting the standard. Presenters receive certificates and supporting documents they can use as evidence in IMT and ST applications.
