About this course
Performance Support for Doctors in Training is a live online course designed to develop the skills needed to effectively support trainee doctors facing challenges in the workplace. The course is run by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and is delivered over four days (23–26 June 2026) in an online format.
This course equips participants with practical strategies and frameworks for identifying, assessing, and supporting doctors in training who may be struggling with clinical, professional, or personal difficulties. Participants will learn how to provide constructive feedback, create action plans, and escalate concerns appropriately within formal processes.
The course is aimed at educational supervisors, clinical supervisors, training programme directors, and other senior clinicians involved in supporting trainee doctors. It combines interactive teaching with real-world case scenarios and practical tools that participants can implement immediately in their supervisory roles.
