Intelligent PACES: Clinical Skills & Communication Skills

Intelligent PACES is the UK's most effective PACES (Practical Assessment of Clinical Examination Skills) preparation course, winner of Best Intensive PACES Preparation Course at the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards 2025. The course is delivered by Intelligent PACES, founded by Retesh Bajaj.

The course stands apart through its strict instructor-to-candidate ratio: no more than two candidates per bedside with one instructor per patient — the highest ratio in the UK. This intensive format means every candidate is examined on each real PACES case, with direct feedback on exam skills, case presentation, and case management. Rather than simply being in a room with many patients, the focus is on seeing genuine PACES presentations with real clinical signs and receiving personalised examiner critique — addressing the key failure point for most candidates.

Candidates can choose either a standard place (two per bedside with shared teaching) or a SOLO place for full 1:1 teaching with an instructor at every patient station. This delivers the most clinical hands-on PACES teaching available in the UK.

The course is structured as an intensive single-day programme delivering four days' worth of teaching per candidate through high-volume, high-intensity clinical exposure. Sessions are strictly limited to 64 places per diet to ensure quality teaching without overcrowding. Two parallel tracks are offered: Clinical Skills (held at Barts Heart Centre, London in-person) and Communication Skills (held virtually).
