About this course
This two-day hands-on course provides both theoretical understanding and practical experience in ultrasound techniques for abdomino-pelvic examinations. Designed for pelvic healthcare professionals new to ultrasound, no previous expertise is required. The curriculum systematically covers transperineal, introital, transabdominal, and endocavitary imaging techniques, equipping participants with clinical skills for assessing perineal dysfunctions and related abdominopelvic structures.
The course covers:
• Analysis of normal pelvic floor anatomy and function
• Anatomical appearance and function evaluation of abdominal muscles
• Pelvic floor contraction analysis and measurement using transabdominal and transperineal ultrasound
• Pelvic stability assessment and pelvic organ mobility evaluation
• Uretrovesical and anorectal angle assessment
• Functional behavior of pelvic floor muscles during valsalva maneuver
• Use of ultrasound as a biofeedback tool
Day 1 focuses on fundamentals, ultrasound device operation, abdominal wall assessment, linea alba evaluation, and diaphragmatic ultrasound. Day 2 covers transperineal approach, pelvic biomechanics, quantitative physiotherapy assessment including measurements of urethral displacement and organ positioning, and 3D/4D ultrasound applications.
Your registration includes 2-day hands-on training, all breaks and lunches, 6 months of eLearning access (4.5 hours of content), and a fun learning environment with international colleagues. The course is led by Montse Rejano, a Pelvic Floor Specialist. Training takes place in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
