About this course
Bromley Emergency's one-day comprehensive X-ray Interpretation course focuses on essential emergency radiology topics. This course provides a perfect introduction for junior doctors rotating to the Emergency Department. It also benefits Emergency Nurse Practitioners, General Practitioners working in Minor Injuries Units, and serves as a refresher for more senior EM trainees looking to update their knowledge of limb injuries and their management.
The course is delivered by senior ED Physicians with extensive experience of common pitfalls encountered in clinical practice. Lectures are organised logically from "head to toe" across different body areas, ensuring a systematic approach throughout the day.
Course content covers:
• Limb injury X-ray interpretation and overview of clinical fracture management
• Immobilisation techniques for different fracture types
• Fracture classification systems relevant to Emergency Medicine
• Assessment of head and facial injuries
The course uses a mixture of teaching methods including lectures, interactive X-ray interpretation reviews, and quizzes. Participants will be able to ask questions and interact with other delegates and facilitators in real time.
By the end of the course, you will develop a systematic and structured approach to X-ray interpretation with a focus on radiological investigations commonly performed in the Emergency Department. You'll increase your confidence in managing a variety of bony injuries often seen following trauma and improve your ability to communicate X-ray findings and refer patients to other specialists more efficiently.
Course runs 9:00am – 5:30pm on a single day, delivered online via Zoom.
