Clinical Governance in Practice

A 2.5-hour live course delivered via Zoom that turns clinical governance theory into practical know-how for NHS professionals. Whether you are new to governance or stepping into more responsibility, you will leave with a clear framework you can use immediately in your role.

The course covers how governance really operates in practice, including how responsibilities flow from corporate level systems through to frontline delivery. You will learn governing documents in the NHS (policies, procedures, standards, frameworks), how to understand and use evidence appropriately, how to classify and report incidents effectively, recognise risk patterns early, and respond proportionately. The course also covers corporate assurance and vigilance, staff development structures, using digital systems for oversight and efficiency, working with patients and the public, and effective clinical audit and quality improvement.
