VRiMS

VRiMS specialises in developing cutting-edge extended reality (XR) resources, including virtual reality, augmented reality, and metaverse applications, with a primary focus on advancing medical and surgical education as well as global health.

Our mission is to create training resources for low- and middle-income countries, leveraging the power of extended reality technologies.

Beyond resource development, VRiMS also operates as a research group, employing rigorous scientific methodologies to evaluate the impact of extended reality on medical and surgical education.

In collaboration with the Brighton and Sussex Medical School and with funding from Health Education England, VRiMS has successfully conducted seven one-week courses. These courses have provided cadaveric hands-on surgical training and reached over 6,000 participants from 101 countries.
