About this course
Examcollab provides comprehensive revision resources for the MRCS Part B examination, a standardized assessment of clinical and practical surgical skills required for membership of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in the UK and other countries.
The MRCS Part B takes the form of an Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) comprising 18 stations lasting 10 minutes each, divided into two categories: Knowledge stations (8 total: 3 anatomy, 2 pathology, 3 physiology/critical care) and Skills stations (10 total: 4 communication, 6 clinical and procedural skills). Candidates must pass both knowledge and skills components to achieve an overall pass, with a maximum pass rate of 75%.
The course includes 127 mock scenarios with detailed model answers covering all exam domains: Anatomy, Surgical Pathology, Physical Examination, Communication, Physiology and Procedural Skills. Each module provides station guides, illustrations, anatomical diagrams, high-yield content, and realistic practice stations. The platform features:
- Anatomy stations with detailed illustrations and anatomical diagrams
- Pathology stations including histology sections
- Clinical examination stations with practice scenarios
- Procedural skills stations with step-by-step guides
- Communication stations with history-taking and information-giving scenarios
- Physiology stations covering applied surgical science and critical care
