About this course
This comprehensive on-demand course is designed for consultant radiologists who undertake on-call duties. It provides a practical and evidence-based review of the more challenging cases encountered in emergency radiology practice, with a focus on interpretation and reporting skills in high-pressure environments.
The course is delivered over two days of content covering eight major clinical domains: Neuroradiology, Acute Chest, Musculoskeletal imaging, Aortic and Vascular pathology, Solid organ abdominal cases, Paediatric radiology, Bowel and Pelvic pathology, and a dedicated session on "Misses, Near-misses and Great pick-ups". Each session combines short theory lectures with interactive case-based learning using a full-featured cloud-based DICOM viewer (PostDICOM), allowing you to interpret and report on approximately 100 real cases alongside expert faculty in real time.
The faculty comprises practicing consultant radiologists from leading NHS trusts, each bringing specialist expertise and extensive experience in their respective fields. The course emphasises practical, workstation-based learning rather than didactic presentations, with immediate feedback on case interpretations and reporting guidance. A key strength is the interactive peer-learning environment, where participants can pose questions directly to faculty via the chat facility during live delivery.
What's included:
• 120 days of on-demand access with unlimited playback
• Full access to approximately 100 real DICOM cases on PostDICOM with complete manipulation tools
• 12 CPD points with certificate of attendance (Royal College of Radiologists accredited)
• Opportunity to submit questions directly to faculty
• Access to expert reporting tips, key learning points, and common errors to avoid
• Immediate feedback during interactive case sessions
This course is ideal for radiologists seeking to refresh and advance their emergency reporting skills, build confidence in challenging on-call scenarios outside their sub-specialty interests, and learn from the combined expertise of leading UK consultant radiologists.
