About this course
A comprehensive two-day live online course providing a practical approach to thyroid diagnostics and management. Delivered by Infomed, an established provider of CPD-accredited medical education since 2004, this course consolidates understanding of thyroid investigation pathways, imaging, laboratory tests, and MDT approaches to thyroid disease.
The course is designed for established and new members of the thyroid cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT), along with trainees. It welcomes clinicians and trainees from radiology, oncology, biochemistry, endocrinology, nuclear medicine, thyroid surgery, histopathology, and cytology.
Day 1 (Diagnostics) covers: thyroid investigation algorithms and functional imaging, biochemistry and TFT interpretation, ultrasound, cross-sectional imaging (MRI, CT, PET-CT), cytology, histopathology, and genetic testing. Day 2 (Management) addresses: medical therapy for benign thyroid disease, thyroid surgery, radioiodine therapy (malignant and benign), dynamic risk stratification, systemic therapy in thyroid cancer, and an interactive thyroid MDT discussion.
Format: Interactive lectures followed by case scenarios, discussion, and live Q&A sessions. Delegates can type questions directly to faculty via chat throughout the course. All sessions include excellent faculty with specialist expertise from King's College Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
By the end of the course, attendees will have a practical approach to investigating thyroid disease, comprehensive understanding of thyroid imaging and laboratory tests, and the ability to implement these into routine practice.
