About this course
This 1-day ECG course provides an overview of ECG interpretation for clinicians new to Emergency Medicine or looking to gain confidence in understanding ECGs. It is delivered online via Zoom, running 9.00am–5.00pm, and taught by experienced emergency doctors who provide a structured and systematic approach to the subject.
The course covers:
• Cardiac physiology as it relates to the ECG
• Interpretation of the normal ECG
• Recognition of significant arrhythmias
• Clinical cases to build confidence in handling cardiac emergencies
This course is aimed at Foundation Doctors (FY1/FY2/FY3), doctors in training (ST1/2), trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Physician Associates, nurses, paramedics, and clinicians who may need to read ECGs infrequently (such as psychiatrists). It is taught by Dr Laura Hunter, an experienced emergency medicine educator.
