This two-part online ‘Training the Trainer’ course aims to enhance knowledge and skills in educational practice within a clinical setting. Designed for senior trainees across all specialties and aligned with CCT requirements, it will equip attendees with the skills to meet the trainer criteria as set out in the GMC recognition of trainers’ requirements.
The course introduces participants to key theoretical frameworks that underpin contemporary educational practice, demonstrating how these can be applied constructively and flexibly in clinical teaching. By emphasising the benefits of reflective practice and the importance of sharing and developing good practices with colleagues, it contributes to the continuing professional development of clinicians with training responsibilities.
To provide necessary flexibility, the College has restructured the course content for remote delivery and participation. However, it will retain interactive small-group elements to enhance the quality of the learning experience and is delivered by a lecturer in adult education.
