The Update on Paediatric Emergencies course is a two-day course designed for Consultants, Registrars and Middle Grades working in General ED, Paediatrics and Paediatric ED, who see paediatric patients presenting as an emergency.
The course will cover a wide range of topics, including:
- Paediatric gastro emergencies
- Common problems in infants and neonates
- Fit or faint?
- Mental health
- Paediatric poisonings and overdoses
- Paediatric imaging in ED
- Critically ill in a DGH
- Infections and fever
- Paediatric legal issues
- Paediatric surgical emergencies
- Imaging in NAI
- Minor injury pitfalls
- Paediatric diabetes presenting in ED
- Analgesia and procedural sedation
The course will be delivered by a team of experienced paediatricians and emergency physicians who are experts in their fields. They will use a variety of teaching methods, including short theory lectures, interactive case-based discussions, and practical workshops.
The course will be held over two days and will be accredited by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
