This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of trauma and orthopaedics essential for professionals working in accident and emergency departments. It caters to all levels of staff, including Senior House Officers (SHO’s), registrars, Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP’s), General Practitioners (GP’s) in A&E, and A&E consultants seeking to refresh and enhance their expertise.
Course Overview:
- Day 1: Participants will attend a series of in-depth lectures covering critical topics in trauma and orthopaedics. These sessions will be led by seasoned experts and will include interactive discussions to address specific queries and challenges faced in the field. The focus will be on providing a thorough theoretical foundation that aligns with current best practices and advances in trauma care.
- Day 2: The second day is dedicated to practical skills, particularly the application of plaster casts. Participants will engage in hands-on sessions, working with fresh plaster materials to practice and refine their casting techniques. This practical experience is crucial for effectively managing fractures and other injuries in an emergency setting.
By the end of the course, delegates will be well-prepared to handle diverse trauma cases with confidence, equipped with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for effective emergency care and appropriate patient referrals.
