This course is delivered in partnership with Orthopaedic Academy and Orthopaedic Research UK; and is designed for candidates taking the part 2 FRCS (Tr & Orth) examinations or equivalent, and consists entirely of mock viva and clinical stations. It will provide you with the opportunity to refine and test your knowledge, practice your exam technique, and clarify any issues with an experienced UK based faculty.
To ensure the very best experience, candidates will be split into small groups of only two participants and rotate through workstations. Each workstation will have at least 2 faculty providing 1:1 teaching ratio.
Delegates will rotate through the following stations; Basic sciences, Paediatrics and Hands, Adult pathology, Trauma, Intermediate case – upper limb, Intermediate case – lower limb, Short cases – upper limb, Short cases – lower limb.
Course Aims
• We believe that if a candidate understands how and why the exam acts as an assessment tool ,this will increase their chances of success.
• The aim of the course is to make sure that every attending candidate is in the best possible position to pass the exam.
• Help candidates develop the structure, presentation and content of their answer.
• Non-verbal communication skills are developed during these sessions.
• Identify your strengths and weaknesses related to knowledge and skills covered by the FRCS exam.
• Tips on how to improve your score in the exam.
• Advice on the use of key words and phrases.
• Provide each candidate with individualised feedback on their performance at each station.

- 09:30 :Â Â Start of the Mock Exam (8 Stations of 30 minutes each)
