This course is designed to provide attendees with a practical, stimulating, and comprehensive update on the optimal use of imaging in the assessment and management of critically ill patients. Through expert-led teaching and case-based learning, participants will gain the skills to make informed, systematic decisions in high-pressure clinical settings.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Understand how radiological investigations support the management of critically ill patients, including head and spine, chest, and abdomen imaging
- Interpret imaging studies with a systematic approach, recognising life-threatening problems and avoiding common errors
- Identify when and what investigations to request, and when to seek radiology input
- Apply key guidelines and protocols in clinical decision-making
- Appreciate the roles, advantages, and limitations of imaging modalities such as X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, and MRI
