The FUSIC Haemodynamics (HD) course is designed for clinicians who want to learn how to use ultrasound to assess the hemodynamic status of critically ill patients. The course covers the following topics:
- Anatomy and physiology of the cardiovascular system
- Basic ultrasound principles
- How to perform a focused hemodynamic ultrasound exam
- Interpretation of hemodynamic ultrasound images
- Clinical applications of hemodynamic ultrasound
The course is delivered by experts from intensive care, acute medicine, and emergency medicine. It is a one-day course that consists of live lectures, pre-recorded e-lectures, and practical sessions.
In the practical sessions, delegates will be divided into groups of three and will use state-of-the-art ultrasound machines to perform focused hemodynamic ultrasound exams on simulated patients.
At the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
- Perform a focused hemodynamic ultrasound exam
- Interpret hemodynamic ultrasound images
- Apply hemodynamic ultrasound findings to the clinical management of critically ill patients
