November 10 All day

This blended learning course builds on the legacy of TrACE (Training and Assessment in the Clinical Environment), with a strong focus on the supervision relationship and the key skills required for outstanding surgical training, supervision, and assessment.
Excellence in Surgical Supervision (ESS) is highly interactive, drawing on participants’ experiences and providing practical guidance. It explores the key stages of the supervision journey, including learning agreements, workplace-based assessments, reports, and an overview of ARCPs, as well as strategies for managing both underperforming and high-achieving trainees.
Mapped against the GMC Standards for the Recognition and Approval of Trainers, the course also reviews essential elements of the 2021 curriculum, including Capabilities in Practice (CiPs) and the Generic Professional Capabilities (GPC) framework.
