Expert to Expert Meeting
Since 2015, the “Expert to Expert” meeting has been held annually in collaboration with the British Elbow & Shoulder Society (BESS). This event provides a valuable platform for surgeons and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) engaged in shoulder and elbow practice to exchange insights and discuss various aspects of their work.
The meeting covers a range of critical topics, including:
Shoulder Trauma and Decision Making:
- Proximal humerus fractures: Should they be left alone, fixed, or replaced? How does the PROFHER trial inform these decisions?
- Floating shoulder and scapula injuries: Are these cases always complicated and challenging?
Shoulder Instability and Decision Making:
- Are the latest arthroscopic stabilisation techniques sufficient, or do we need to reassess our approach?
Complex Rotator Cuff Decision Making:
- Do small rotator cuff tears warrant surgical intervention?
- Can large tears be successfully repaired, and what are the next steps if surgery is not an option?
Elbow Trauma and Decision Making:
- How severe can the terrible triad of elbow injuries be?
- What benefits does elbow arthroscopy offer in managing these injuries?
This meeting is an opportunity for professionals to delve deeply into these issues and enhance their clinical practice.
