Our basic Obstetrics and Gynaecology Ultrasound course is intended for those looking to start out using ultrasound in gynaecology and pregnancy.
The course is appropriate for:
- Doctors interested in pursuing Obstetrics and Gynaecology as a career
- Doctors working in Obs and Gynae who want a firm foundation in ultrasound and need to acquire the ST3 Ultrasound competencies
- Midwives
- Sonographers looking to expand or revise their skills in Obstetrics and early pregnancy
The topics covered include:
- How to use ultrasound and obtain useful images
- Early and late pregnancy scanning
- The uterus: size, shape and position
- Introduction to TV scanning technique
- Introduction to gynaecological abnormalities
During the course, short lectures and demonstrations will alternate with focused practical scanning sessions. You will scan on healthy volunteers (including pregnant women) and state-of-the-art-simulators able to demonstrate pelvic pathologies.
