Designed for clinicians in sexual health, family planning, and reproductive health, this half-day practical session is ideal for those looking to develop basic ultrasound skills. No prior experience is required. The course offers hands-on training in both transabdominal and transvaginal scanning, equipping you with essential ultrasound skills for clinical practice.

Key areas covered:

  • How to use ultrasound and obtain useful images
  • Uterus measurements and normal findings
  • Using ultrasound for IUD localisation
  • Early pregnancy identification

Practical scanning will progress from using an ultrasound machine with normal human volunteers (transabdominal) to assessing early pregnancy and pathology on models and simulators, before advancing to transvaginal ultrasound skills using various manikins.
