Anaesthesia for the Patient Living with Obesity is an online course that is designed to help anaesthetists provide safe and effective care to patients who are obese. The course is aimed at Consultants, Registrars and Specialty Trainees in Anaesthesia.
The course covers a range of topics, including:
- The physiological changes associated with obesity
- The challenges of airway management in obese patient
- The risks of surgery and anaesthesia in obese patients
- The principles of safe and effective anaesthesia for obese patients
- The use of special equipment and techniques for obese patients
- Special cases including paediatrics & obstetrics
The course is delivered through a combination of interactive lectures, case-based discussions, and Q&As. The lectures are led by experienced lecturers from the UK, and the case-based discussions and Q&As provide participants with the opportunity to apply their learning to real-world scenarios.
