This course is ideal for doctors seeking to enhance their skills in Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation and gain an introduction to the use of non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in adult patient care within the NHS.

The course covers a wide range of ABGs, presented in clinical scenarios common in NHS Acute Hospitals, including Emergency Medicine, Acute and General Medicine, and Surgical inpatient care. Tutors will guide you through interpreting ABGs and introduce NIV, focusing on safe initiation and troubleshooting, particularly during on-call hours.

Before the course, you’ll receive a workbook with ABG cases to practise independently. During the course, tutors will help you refine your interpretation skills, emphasizing key management strategies and boosting your confidence in real-world settings.
