“Anaesthetists as Educators: An Introduction” offers a comprehensive overview of postgraduate medical education in anaesthesia. Through a blend of workshops and lectures, this course caters to trainees, SAS doctors, and consultants without prior teaching or medical education training. Serving as a foundational course, it lays the groundwork for the subsequent workshop, “Anaesthetists as Educators: Teaching and Training in the Workplace,” which delves into interactive discussions based on participants’ real-life experiences.

Please note that completion of pre-course reading materials and videos is mandatory prior to attending this course, which is anticipated to require approximately half a day.

For those aspiring to apply for membership of the Academy of Medical Educators, attendance at both this course and the two-day “AaE: Teaching and Training in the Workplace” course, along with the completion of associated homework assignments, is essential. Both courses should be finished within a 30-month timeframe.
